Building relationships to unlock a community-driven research collaboration for redressing cancer-related inequities in Vancouver’s urban core
Goal: The goal of this project is to co-create a research proposal that reflects the priorities of the communities living in Vancouver’s urban core. Our approach will be informed by participatory action research methods and a social determinants of health lens that challenges the typical power dynamics in healthcare and health research. In this equity-first approach to relationship building, we will center the voices of people with lived experience of health and social inequities (PWLE-HSI) who are most disadvantaged across the cancer care continuum.
